Bossa Novaの創始者João Gilbertoを父に、歌手Miúchaを母に持つブラジル音楽界のサラブレッド、Bebel Gilberto。彼女が2000年に発表し、世界中にセンセーションを巻き起こした金字塔『Tanto Tempo』が、オリジナル・マスターテープからのリマスタリングを経て鮮やかに蘇る。
本作は、ブラジルの伝統的なリズムと洗練されたエレクトロニック・サウンドを融合させた「ボッサ・エレクトロニカ」の先駆けとして知られる。プロデューサーのSubaと共に作り上げたその音像は、オーガニックなアコースティック楽器の響きを、ダブやトリップ・ホップにも通じる現代的なビートで包み込んだものだ。Bebelのアンニュイで肉感的なヴォーカルは、繊細な電子音の粒立ちと重なることで、より一層の親密さを醸し出している。

The reissue celebrates Bebel’s international breakthrough and lasting influence, marking a milestone for an album that sold nearly a million copies and remains a touchstone in the global downtempo and bossa nova scene.
The reissue is available on digisleeve CD and double vinyl, both including previously unpublished texts and photos, plus a previously unreleased track only available on the CD, ‘No Return’.
