アナログ機材を駆使してきたバレアリック志向のディープ・ハウス系プロデューサーGreetingsが、自身の楽曲を実力派リミキサー陣に委ねたリミックス集。
『Dance Music For Elsewhere』でエレクトロニック・サウンドと物語性のあるヴォーカルを融合させたGreetings。その楽曲を再構築したのが本作『Dance Music For Elsewhere Remixes Vol. 1』。リリースはMy Love My Love。
オリジナルでアナログ機材の質感と感情的な歌を打ち出してきたGreetingsの世界観を、別視点から拡張する内容だ。
Donald’s Houseは“My Paradise”をダブ・ミックスへ転換。転がるベースラインとエコーを効かせたM1系キーボードが広がり、ゆったりとしたビートの上で音が奥行きを持って漂う。オーストラリアの空気感を想起させる、開放的なダブ・アプローチ。
一方、Romain FXはリード曲“End of the Night”を約7分にわたり再構築。Naarm拠点のヴォーカリストIndigo Kingをフィーチャーした原曲のロマンティックな要素を活かしつつ、ビートを強化。シンセのレイヤーを重ね、夜のダンスフロアを意識した展開へと導く。高揚感を丁寧に積み上げる構成が印象的だ。
