Hubert Eavesによる貴重な2曲が、Preludeの12インチで初めてカップリングされて登場。A面には、彼のソロ・アルバムに収められていたジャズ作品「Slow Down」を収録。丸ごと片面を使い、鍵盤の緻密なフレーズとしなやかなドラム、シンバルのきらめきが大きなスケールで展開する。ジャズとソウルを自在に行き来するEavesの感性が、存分に刻み込まれている。
B面には、D-Trainの代表作「You're The One For Me」の幻のRepriseヴァージョンを収録。オリジナルLPの最後にひっそり置かれていたこのダブ・ミックスは、ブギー調のベースラインと艶やかな80年代のプロダクションが魅力で、じわじわとフロアを陶酔へと導く仕上がりだ。
Hubert Eavesはプロデューサー／キーボーディストとして、ソウルからジャズ、ディスコまで幅広く手がけ、James MtumeやReggie Lucasとの活動でも知られる重要人物。その音楽性の広さと緻密さを凝縮したこの12インチは、Preludeの象徴的なデザイン・スリーヴに収められ、時代を超えて光を放つ。

Two Hubert Eaves gems finally arrive on a fresh Prelude 12" for the very first time. The A-side features his breathtaking jazz masterpiece 'Slow Down'. It has been lifted from his solo LP and is stretched across the full side to deliver maximum fidelity and presence. The keys are meticulous as they wander up and down the scales next to leggy drums and splashing cymbals that give it extra weight and scale. On the flip, the elusive dubbed-out Reprise of' You're The One For Me' steps into the spotlight. Once hidden at the end of the D-Train LP, it now gets room to breathe and is sure to lead to hypnotic dancefloor immersion with its boogie-friend basslines and glossy 80 production.
