アンダーグラウンド・ディスコと実験音楽の交差点で生まれた、Arthur RussellとWalter GibbonsによるユニットIndian Oceanの名作「School Bell / Tree House」が、Sleeping Bag Recordsの象徴的なスリーヴと限定イエロー・ヴァイナル仕様で再登場。
オリジナル盤は1986年にリリースされ、Arthur Russellの前衛的なチェロとWalter Gibbonsのディスコ・ダブの手法が融合した、ニューヨークのダンスフロアを象徴するプロト・ハウスの名盤。Russellは、Dinosaur LやLoose Jointsといった名義でも知られ、Peter GordonやTalking Heads、Nicky Sianoなど多彩なアーティストとコラボレーションを重ねた。
「School Bell / Tree House」は、彼らの革新的なサウンドを体現した作品であり、オリジナル盤はコレクターズアイテムとして高値で取引されている。今回の再発は、オリジナルのアートワークを再現しつつ、限定カラー・ヴァイナルでのリリースとなる。
ニューヨークのアンダーグラウンド・シーンを象徴するこの一枚は、ディスコ、ハウス、実験音楽の歴史を語る上で欠かせない作品。限定盤につき、見逃し厳禁。

Arthur Russell aka Indian Ocean needs little introduction in the vinyl world...but we'll try. He was a celebrated experimental jazz cellist who co-founded the independent label Sleeping Bag Records with Will Socolov in 1981. Prior to that, Russell served as the musical director at The Kitchen, an avant-garde venue in New York, during 1974 and 1975. He later shifted his focus to dance music, producing or co-producing several underground club hits under various names such as Dinosaur L, Loose Joints, and Indian Ocean between 1978 and 1988. Throughout his career, Russell collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including musicians Peter Gordon, Peter Zummo, and Talking Heads, as well as DJs like Nicky Siano, Steve D'Aquisto, and Walter Gibbons. We are excited to announce the re-release of the intriguing single 'School Bell / Tree House', created in collaboration with Walter Gibbons, a true slight of NYC dancefloor in their typical 'Proto House' style. This single will be reissued in the Sleeping Bag's iconic sleeve and limited-edition yellow vinyl.
