Baltimore then Detroit producer Monica Frizner aka Ladymonix returns with 'This & That', a three-tracker 12" tracking late-night steamdowns, dusty funk edits and raw vocal loops with her usual no-fuss confidence. Out via her own label Frizner Electric, the record marks her latest in a steady stream of self-issued dancefloor cuts since her 2018 debut. 'Burnin' Up' leads with clipped soul samples, while the title track rides a hypoid groove, all neon bass and harrumphing, confident one-shots. Closer 'Don't Ya' splays out with a deeper, slower pull towards '10s era, post-late-fringe house.
