Newcastle duo Lighthouse Family introduced themselves with Ocean Drive, their 1995 debut on Polydor's Wildcard imprint. Written between 1993-95 with producer Mike Peden, the album blended pop, soul and easy listening over smooth, trip-hop-tinged beats, drawing comparisons to Faithless and Lamb. Its breakthrough single 'Lifted' hit the UK Top 10, followed by charting cuts 'Ocean Drive,' 'Goodbye Heartbreak' and 'Loving Every Minute.' Reissued in 1996 with international editions, the LP went on to become the best-selling debut by any North East England act since records began in 1956. This latest reissue is another reminder of Paul Tucker and Tunde Baiyewu's enduring pop charms.
