Leon WareやLincoln Olivettiと共にLAの空気感をブラジルへと持ち込み、80sブラジリアン・ブギーの頂点を極めたMarcos Valle不朽の傑作。
1960年代からボッサ・ノーヴァの旗手として「Summer Samba (So Nice)」などの名曲を生み出し、後にLAへと渡ってLeon Wareらと交流を深めたMarcos Valle。彼がブラジルへ帰国し、現地の天才プロデューサーLincoln Olivettiとタッグを組んで1983年に発表したセルフタイトル作が、ハーフスピード・マスタリングを施した高音質仕様で復刻。
本作は、ブラジルのアーバン・ファンク〜AORの最高傑作として今なお愛され続けるアンセム「Estrelar」を収録した、彼のキャリアにおける最重要作の一つ。Robson JorgeやOberdan Magalhães（Azymuth）といった豪華布陣が参加し、LA仕込みの洗練されたメロウなソウルと、ブラジル特有の軽やかなグルーヴが完璧な均衡で融合している。
今回の復刻では、ハーフスピード・マスタリングを採用。緻密に編み込まれたホーン・セクションの華やかさや、ボトムの効いたベースラインの解像度が飛躍的に向上し、録音当時から色褪せないアーバンな空気感をより鮮明に描き出している。ディスコ、ファンク、MPBを自在に横断するMarcos Valleの魔法が詰まった、全音楽ファン必携のヴァイナル。

Marcos Valle's 1983 self-titled album remains a cornerstone of Brazilian boogie and it is famously anchored by the enduring classic 'Estrelar.' Co-produced by fellow giants of the Latin scene, Lincoln Olivetti and Paulo Sergio Valle, the record features a stellar lineup including Rosana, Robson Jorge and Oberdan Magalhaes and blends MPB, funk, soul and AOR influences from Valle's time spent in Los Angeles. US legend Leon Ware also get involved and makes a fine contribution and now this definitive reissue arrives with half-speed mastering to elevate the warmth and detail of the original recordings. This is one of Marcos Valle's most iconic works.
