Brian Dougans と Gary Cobain によるユニット Mental Cube が残した象徴的トラック “So This Is Love”。のちに The Future Sound of London としてエレクトロニック・ミュージック史に名を刻む二人が、その原点で提示した重要作だ。
1991年にリリースされた本作は、彼らのデビュー曲 “Chile of the Bass Generation” に続く第2弾であり、当時まだ黎明期にあったUKハウス〜テクノの地平を切り拓いた作品として知られている。温かく揺れるシンセ・パッド、艶のあるベース、そしてタイトルにふさわしい官能的な空気が一体となり、30年以上を経た今もなお色褪せない魅力を放つ。

カップリングの “Q” は、ドイツやベルギーの90年代初期テクノの影響を感じさせる硬質なトラックで、のちのFSOL作品にも通じるサイバーでミニマルな質感を備える。フランス盤12インチは市場でも3～5万円台で取引されるほどの人気を誇る。
