2017年のディスコ・ハウス大人気盤が待望の再プレス！90年代から活動を続けるUKハウス職人が、ディスコとガラージの感覚を注いだ名作12インチ。
Soul Reductionsによる「Got 2 Be Loved」は、ロンドン拠点のレーベルTake Awayのカタログでも特に支持を集めてきた一枚。Soul Reductionsは、UKハウス・シーンで長く活動するプロジェクトで、クラシックなガラージやディスコの要素を現代的なハウスへ落とし込む手腕で知られる。
タイトル曲「Got 2 Be Loved」は、そのタイトル通りLeon Ware - "Got to Be Loved"をネタに使った作品。軽快な4つ打ちのリズムに温かみのあるコードと高揚感あるヴォーカルが重なる王道のディスコ・ハウス。シンプルな構成ながら、フロアでじわじわと熱を高めるグルーヴが持ち味。続く「A Rose Is A Rose」はSavanna - "Never Let You Go"が元ネタ。ソウルフルなメロディとタイトなリズムが際立つクールなディスコ・ハウス。
さらに注目2017年の盤には収録されていなかった追加トラック「Tom N Jerry」。Soul Reductionsの別名義的アプローチで、よりディスコ・ダブ色を強めたトラック。ヴォーカル断片やリズムを巧みに再構築し、反復と抜き差しで展開するDJユースな仕上がり。派手さよりもグルーヴの持続力で勝負する内容。
