Alex Kassian等のリリースで人気のTest Pressing Recordings傘下に新レーベルTest Pressing Arts誕生～第1弾12インチをリリース！
ロンドン〜サンフランシスコを拠点に活動し、ソウルやネオソウルの影響を受けた表現で注目されるシンガーが、内省的なディープ・ハウスを提示。
Sulah Jordanによる「Lady Bug」は、Test Pressingが立ち上げた新レーベルTest Pressing Artsの第1弾として登場した作品。Test Pressing Artsは、ソウルやソロピアノなど、より実験的で内向的な音楽に焦点を当てたラインとしてスタートしている。
本作は当初Bandcampのみで公開され、感度の高いリスナーの間で早い段階から注目を集めた一枚。内容は、滑らかなコードと抑制されたビートを軸に、Sulah Jordanの柔らかく深みのあるヴォーカルが前面に出た構成。バレアリックやソウル、アンビエントの要素を感じさせる落ち着いた音像が特徴。
派手な展開は控えめで、音の余白や空気感を活かした作り。流れるようなグルーヴの中で自然に聴き進められるタイプの作品で、リスニングにも、ラウンジ的なフロアにも対応するバランスに仕上がっている。
