Description
A masterpiece of Japanese jazz and jazz funk is back on clear green vinyl!
A jazz-rock masterpiece by the legendary Jiro Inagaki! Beyond jazz-rock. The Soul Media band led by Jiro Inagaki arrived at a tight, cool, ultimate groove. As Inagaki himself says, “I played black funk,” his music leaped to another dimension by fusing the explosive power of the jazz-rock he had cultivated up to that point with the tenacity and elasticity of black music. Combined with the brilliant arrangements of the master musician Masamichi Suzuki, the groove is polished, enriched, and shines with an eerie luster. Every track is a highlight, including the dynamic, high-speed “Painted Paradise,” “Breeze,” which coexists with funkiness and mellowness, and the low-centered, sharp cover of Cool & the Geng’s “Funky Stuff.” It is now a definitive masterpiece in constant demand from around the world.
