Description
A former model, Tamao Koike gained attention for her appearance in the 1982 Kanebo cosmetics commercial "The Unfaithful Palette Cat" while simultaneously being discovered by Haruomi Hosono. She began her career as a singer on the YEN label, which Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi established within Alpha Records. In 1983, she made her official debut as a singer with the single "Kagami no Naka no Juugatsu" (October in the Mirror), fully backed by YMO. The song remains highly acclaimed today as a masterpiece of YMO kayō, but after releasing a mini-album under the name Tamao Ijima in the 1990s, she withdrew from the spotlight and remained a mysterious figure for many years. In 2023, the compilation CD "TAMAO - Complete Yen Years," containing all her released recordings from the Alpha/YEN label era, was released with the full cooperation of Tamao Koike herself, delighting fans. Now, 11 tracks selected from that collection will be released as an analog LP. This completely limited edition features colored vinyl (clear pink). It is a long-awaited item that even fans who already own the CD cannot afford to miss. A participating product in Toyo Kasei's "Record Day 2024."
