New York record shop Dope Jams, run by Paul Nickerson and Francis Englehard, has released a 3-disc compilation focusing on their early years from 2005 to 2012! They are famous for their anarchic activities such as releasing bootlegs and publishing the year's worst record chart, but I was surprised to hear that all of this compilation has cleared the license! The house classic A1 from SOD The Sound Of Detroit, the B1 which is only included in Funk D'Void's album, the D1 which has been premiered on the 12-inch released by Chicago's Mathematics in 2008, and the Dope Jams since its release. Covers a wide range of sounds that expand on house and techno, including the definitive gospel house E1 sung by Kenny Bobien, who continues to push the music! We not only reprint rare sound sources, but also unreleased sound sources, so be sure to check them out! Also included is a 32-page 12-inch booklet with many photos in a luxurious double-page jacket!
