Description
After his time in the post-rock band Fridge, Four Tet established himself as a titan of electronica. This dance album pays homage to pirate radio culture, emotionally deconstructing and reconstructing the energy of UK garage and jungle.
Kieran Hebden began his career as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before releasing acclaimed electronica classics such as Rounds under his solo project, Four Tet. Released on his own label, Text Records, Beautiful Rewind blends the essence of UK garage, jungle, house, tender, and bass music through his unique lens.
The album is imbued throughout with a raw energy inspired by the UK's pirate radio culture. As exemplified by the advance cut Kool FM, it features chopped-up vocal samples and hard-rolling jungle-style drum programming. Within the meticulous sound design, Hebden's signature emotional melodies and floating synth pads blend seamlessly, creating a perfect balance between dancefloor energy and beauty for home listening. This satisfying vinyl is the unique fruit of experimental beat-making and a deep love for club music.
