Description
A 12-inch reissue by Gary Martin, head of Teknotika, who has stood out in the Detroit techno scene since the 1990s, reconfiguring acid and sci-fi-themed tracks released under the name Gigi Galaxy to precise tempos.
Gary Martin is a producer who founded his own label, Teknotika Records, in 1993 and continues to be active at the forefront of Detroit techno. This work corrects and reconstructs the tracks he released under the name Gigi Galaxy in 1995 and 1996 to perfect tempos, with the cooperation of The Outer Limits.
In addition to "2020 Interview With An Alien," which adds a powerful rhythm to the hard-to-find original track, "Acid Spores From Outer Space" fuses acid sounds with a sci-fi atmosphere, featuring a modified bassline and a trippy development in the latter half. A record that encapsulates Detroit techno where distorted basslines and sci-fi electronic sounds intersect.
A. 2020 Interview With An Alien
B. Acid Spores From Outerspace
Teknotika goes back to 1995 and 1996 to hand pick two favorites to be reworked and computerized for perfect tempos. “2020 Interview With An Alien” uses the original rare and sought after version with an added “jack” in the rhythm. “Acid Spores From Outer Space” is what happens when you mix acid with science fiction. It contains the original but changes the bassline and adds a tripped out section 3/4 in the song. Both the originals and the reissues are written and produced by Gary Martin with some help from The Outer Limits.
