ソウル、ダブ、ディスコを飲み込んだ変幻自在なハウス・スタイルで支持を得るユニット、Girls of the Internet。彼らがシンガーソングライターのJames Alexander Bright、そして名門ATHENS OF THE NORTHとタッグを組んだ特別な12インチが登場。
もともとは彼らの共同ツアー会場で販売するために制作された限定盤であり、今回、その貴重な残余分がわずかな数だけ一般へと流通することになった。A面の「Someone Somewhere」は、レーベルの秘蔵カタログから選び抜かれた音源をサンプリングした、高揚感あふれるダンス・トラックだ。一方、B面にはJames Alexander Brightの楽曲をゴスペル調のハウスへと昇華させた「Where Is Your Love」を収録。実際のライヴでも大きな反響を呼んでいるこの曲は、力強いヴォーカルと弾むようなピアノ、そして突き抜けるようなグルーヴが絶妙に融合している。
漆黒の溝に深く刻み込まれた重厚な低域と、空間を切り裂くようなハンドクラップ。針を落とした瞬間にスピーカーのコーン紙を震わせ、あたり一帯の空気をダンスフロアの熱気で一変させてしまうような、物理的な音の押し出しがここにある。 一度限りのプレスであり、現時点では追加プレスの予定がない貴重な一枚。フロアの熱狂をそのまま封じ込めたような、生命力あふれる響きをぜひ体感してほしい。
