Description
Holger Czukay's second album, a timeless masterpiece that shines brilliantly in the history of pop music, is now reissued on two 10-inch vinyl records! [Released in 1979]
Produced over nearly two years starting in 1977 after Can split, this is Holger Czukay's second album. Czukay played almost all the instruments himself, but the drums/percussion were performed by Jaki Liebezeit (Can). "Cool In The Pool" is an incredibly fun pop song that fully showcases his humor and genius editing skills. "Oh Lord Give Us More Money" features all the members of Can, making it a masterpiece that is "more Can than Can" than what the late-70s Can could have created.
"Persian Love," which became a smash hit in Japan after being used in a TV commercial, masterfully blends the voice and instrumental performance of an Iranian singer picked up from shortwave radio, creating a nostalgic, Shangri-La sound that evokes an indescribable sense of melancholy. From the mysterious "Hollywood Symphony," which features meticulous "cinematic" editing, the album provides a vivid listening experience that evokes a wide range of imagery.
