タイトル曲「The Phoenix」は、デトロイトっぽいシンセのリフレインとファットなハウス・ビートが作り出す緊密なグルーヴが特徴のクラブ・チューン。East London出身のOliver Nightをヴォーカルに迎えた「Lightening In Me」は、Kerri ChandlerやGilles Petersonらも注目する才能の輝きが際立つ。

UK-born DJ, producer and label boss Jimpster debuts on cult label Nu Groove in 2025 with a fresh set of four originals, The Phoenix EP, now on wax. Across this four-track collection, Jimpster showcases over two decades of production expertise, starting with a title track that showcases a club-ready sound built for the underground; ‘The Phoenix’ builds a tight groove through the ebb and flow of overlapping rhythmic patterns. What follows is ‘Lightening In Me’ featuring vocals from East London’s Oliver Night, an electronic artist and songwriter whose work has been supported by the likes of tastemakers Kerri Chandler, Gilles Peterson and Honey Dijon. Rounding off the EP is ‘Beat Of An Era’ and ‘You Got My Love’, two select cuts that demonstrate Jimpster’s mastery of the deep house scene, complete with dreamy synthwork and jazz inflections.
