Description
This blow changed the history of jazz. A declaration of war delivered by the genius and maverick Jiro Inagaki. The ultimate jazz-rock legend is here!
Jiro Inagaki was one of the musicians at the center of the development of jazz-rock in Japan. Feeling the limitations of existing jazz, Inagaki stated, "With a band that smells strongly of rock, we will do not only jazz-rock, but something that has never existed before," and began his full-scale activities with Soul Media from 1969. The work that symbolizes his activities and musicality is this 1970-recorded masterpiece, "Head Rock".
From the opening "The Vamp" to the final "Head Rock", this is a non-stop jazz-rock showcase featuring a lineup of formidable tracks poured with all his ideas and passion.
It is a masterpiece that stands as an outlier remaining on the prestigious jazz label Tact, and exudes an overwhelming presence in the history of Japanese jazz.
