Description
The 1995 tech house/techno masterpiece by Smooth & Simmonds—a unit consisting of Cross Section Records founder Chris Simmonds and Ron Wells, a jungle/techno pioneer known as an early figurehead of drum and bass—has been remastered and officially reissued!
"Vertigo" is the third installment in Pariter's reissue series focusing on the work of Chris Simmonds and Ron Wells. Between 1990 and 1997, the two released just nine EPs, yet they masterfully achieved a perfect balance of house, garage, and techno across them. This remastering allows you to enjoy it in even clearer sound than before.
This 12-inch was originally released by Bomba Records in 1995 and features the title track spread across both sides. Side A is a bumping house track characterized by powerful bass and smooth edges, with gentle synths spreading throughout the mix. Part 2 continues this deep house sound with an even fuller finish.
A. Vertigo (part 1)
B. Vertigo (part 2)
Vertigo is the third part of a reissue series on Parter that focuses on the work of Chris Simmonds and Ron Wells. These two made just nine Eps back between 1990 and 1997 but very much hit a perfect sweet spot between house, garage and techno when they did. Now newly remastered for this series, they have never sounded better. This 12" was originally from 1995 on Bomba Records and features the title cut spread across two sides and two parts. Side A is a bumping house cut with thumping bass and nice frayed edges as the serene synths are smeared all about the mix. Part 2 is a continuation of this most fine and full-bodied but deep house sound.
