ロンドンの伝説的テックハウス・パーティーWiggleを牽引するTerry FrancisとNathan ColesにBushwacka!を加えた名手3人のプロジェクトThe Delinquentsが、1998年に発表したブレイクビーツ混じりの極上テックハウスEP。
クラシックなハウスやテクノの埋もれた名盤を発掘するレーベルMint Conditionから、ロンドンのアンダーグラウンドシーンで強烈な存在感を放ってきたTerry Francis、Nathan Coles、そしてMatthew Bushwacka! Bの3人が結成したThe Delinquentsによる傑作『Room On Top』が待望の復刻。
彼らが主宰するWiggleの音響思想を体現した本作は、100%純度のテックハウス・サウンド。1990年代後半から長らく廃盤状態が続き、近年の中古市場でも高値を維持していた幻の1枚だ。ファンクの躍動感、不敵なスワッガー、そして小気味よいブレイクビーツが融合した計4トラックを収録。当時のフロアを席巻したフューチャリスティックなサウンドスケープは、現代のクラブでも絶大な破壊力を発揮する。
今回の復刻にあたり、Wiggle全面協力のもとオリジナルDATテープからロンドンのCurve Pusherにてリマスターを敢行。当時の熱量をクリアに捉えた、全テックハウス・ファン必携のヴァイナルだ。
