The Fantastic Aleemsによる“Movin' To The Beat”は、アンダーグラウンドで支持された“Hooked On Your Love”に続いて放たれた重要作。ヴォーカルにCorky Hodgesを迎え、伸びやかな歌声と分厚いプロダクションが一体となった、当時のダンスフロアを強く意識した仕上がりとなっている。
TaharqaとTunde-Ra Aleemは、ファンク〜ディスコの文脈で活動し、P-Funk周辺とも関わりを持つ実力派。ここでもその経験が活き、タイトなリズムと豊かなアレンジが噛み合い、冒頭から引き込む強力なグルーヴを生み出している。特に印象的なのは、一度聴けば耳に残るキャッチーなコーラスと、躍動感あるベースライン。シンプルながらも高揚感を持続させる構成で、クラシックと呼ばれる理由がはっきりと伝わる内容だ。
